Why accurate shipping documentation is so important

     Documentation

Did you know that the decision to call a freight shipment for exam is made by Other Government Departments (OGDS), such as the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), and is often triggered by a problem with the documentation?  At best, that could mean delays.  At worst, it could lead to AMPS penalties and fines, which could all have been avoided by simply ensuring all documentation is complete, accurate and legible.

In addition to the CBSA, there are 15 OGDs and agencies that are involved in the movement of various commodities in and out of Canada.

Quick Tip #20
True or false? AMPS penalties only apply to import shipments
