The
United States Trade Representative (USTR) has announced
all existing and pending China tariffs are being increased in retaliation of China’s response to the next round of tariffs being implemented on $300billion worth of products imported to theU.S..
Current additional tariffs of 25% on roughly $550 billion of China products will increase to 30%, effective October1, 2019. The scheduled tariffs of 10% on $300billion will be assessed at 15%, effective on the already scheduled dates (September1st and December15th) for tariff increases on theseimports.

Washington, DC – Today, China announced it will impose unjustified tariffs targeting U.S. products. In response to China’s decision, and in order to achieve the objectives of the China Section301 investigation, President Trump has instructed the United States Trade Representative (USTR) to increase by 5% the tariffs on approximately $550billion worth of Chinese imports. For the 25% tariffs on approximately $250billion worth of Chinese imports, USTR will begin the process of increasing the tariff rate to 30%, effective October1 following a notice and comment period. For the 10% tariffs on approximately $300billion worth of Chinese imports that the President announced earlier this month, the tariffs will now be 15%, effective on the already scheduled dates for tariff increases on theseimports.
The United States Trade Representative (USTR) has not yet issued a Federal Register Notice.
